Cardinal, the fourth in our Songbird Gin series, is something very special. Prolonged rest in Port barrels gifts a deep red hue and nose of honey, cream, vanilla, spice and orange. Hints of juniper and fortified wine combine to create a gin that is smooth and complex, rich and delicious. Cardinal is presented Cask Strength to enjoy in its full glory neat, up or with a cube. Perfect in a Negroni or take your Bramble game to the next level.
COCKTAIL RECIPE:
Negroni
Easy to make a refreshingly bitter, the Negroni is a classic gin cocktail invented in the early 20th century in Florence, Italy. Created for the Italian Count Camillo Negroni, who demanded that the bartender strengthen his favorite cocktail, the Americano, by replacing the usual soda water with gin. To further differentiate the drink, the bartender also garnished the new cocktail with an orange peel rather than the typical lemon.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1oz Songbird Cardinal Gin
- 1oz Campari
- 1oz sweet vermouth
- Garnish Orange Peel
PREPARATION:

Add the Cardinal Gin, Campari and sweet vermouth to a mixing glass filled with ice

Stir with a bar spoon until well-chilled (30 rotations)

Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.

Garnish with an orange peel.
