Our 4 year rye whiskey takes an extraordinary journey as it’s second-finished in freshly dumped Tsarry Night stout barrels. Tsarry Night is a Bourbon barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout that has been in Springfield Brewing Company’s winter beer line-up since 2014. Its black-as-night hue comes from a blend of roasted barley, chocolate malt, and dark crystal malt; this rich dark malt profile creates a unique second finishing to our rye.

Double Barrel ‘Black Label’ starts off with rich malt aromas layered within a bold and spicy rye backbone. The flavor has some earthiness, cocoa, and roast character through midpalate, finishing with roast, honey and soft notes of stone fruit. The finish lingers with rye dryness and some sweetness from the stout. The result is a complex rye whiskey with notes of dark fruit, roasted malt, cocoa, and nougat.
